Purple People

We provide homeless and at-risk young adults ages 14 to 26 with resources and support needed to overcome challenging situations. Youth have access to mentoring, support, health education, and various other services to help them break out of the cycle of homelessness.

Covenant House IL (CHIL)

Through collaborative agreements with leading agencies, Covenant House is able to provide access to mental health services on-site. During the intake process, trained staff work with the youth to identify any immediate needs and determine the best plan of action for each individual. Those who choose to may access treatment for mental health and substance abuse issues through Covenant House’s community partnerships.

Broadway Youth Center

BYC provides basic needs assistance, resource advocacy, mental wellness supports, on-site psychiatry services, and telehealth.

What is the approximate wait time to meet with a counselor?

The closer to 10am you can arrive, the better. Slots start to fill up after that.

Is there some help in paying for services?

Yes, based on income ($5 for low income). If unemployed, you can sign a waiver for no income. If employed, you have to email check stubs. Regardless of insurance status, BYC never takes payments on-site. 

Are there any age restrictions to use their services?

They take walk-ins.
